Weatherbeeta USA Recalls Collegiate Saddles Due to Fall Hazard


VALENCIA, Calif. — Weatherbeeta USA has announced a recall of several Collegiate English horse-riding saddles after discovering a defect that could cause riders to fall and suffer injuries.

According to the company, the rivet or stirrup bar on affected saddles may break during use, creating a risk of the rider being thrown. One injury has been reported in connection with the defect.

The recall covers nine Collegiate models, including Degree Mono Event, Graduate Close Contact, Honour Close Contact, Integrity Mono Dressage, Lectern Dressage, and Warwick Close Contact. All saddles are marked with the Collegiate name on the nail head and stirrup keeper. They range in size from 15 to 18 inches and were sold in black or brown, depending on the model.
