Curtis International Expands Recall of Frigidaire Mini Fridges Over Fire and Burn Risk


Curtis International has expanded a recall involving Frigidaire-brand mini fridges after identifying additional units that may pose a serious fire hazard.

According to recall information, certain Frigidaire mini fridges contain internal electrical components that can short-circuit. If this occurs, the surrounding plastic housing can ignite, creating a risk of fire and burn injuries.

The expanded recall now includes Curtis International 6-can mini fridges with model number EFMIS121 and specific serial numbers. This action adds to an earlier recall involving models EFMIS129, EFMIS137, EFMIS149, and EFMIS175. The recalled mini fridges are branded with the name “Frigidaire” on the front, and the model and serial numbers are located on a label on the back of the unit. The affected EFMIS121 units were sold in red at Target stores.

Curtis International has reported receiving at least six incidents involving EFMIS121 mini fridges that caught fire.
