YITA Recalls Five Brands of 16-Drawer Dressers Over Injury and Entrapment Risks; Products Fail to Meet Federal Stability Requirements

WASHINGTON — YITA has announced a recall of multiple dresser models sold under five different brand names. The recalled units do not comply with the federal safety requirements established under the STURDY Act for clothing storage furniture.

According to the recall notice, the dressers may become unstable if not properly secured to a wall, posing a significant tip-over hazard. Such incidents can result in serious injuries, particularly to young children, including the risk of entrapment or death.

The recall includes 16-drawer dressers marketed under the Dextrus, ModFusion, Uforic, Yintatech, and Yitahome brand names. The dressers were sold in gray, black, white, pink, and brown finishes.

Each unit features a black or white metal frame, a wooden top surface, and collapsible fabric drawers. The dressers measure approximately 37.4 inches in length, 11.8 inches in width, and 57.1 inches in height.

The affected products can be identified by the following SKU numbers: FTBFSD-0161, FTBFSD-0162, FTBFSD-0212, FTBFSD-0246, and FTBFSD-0465.

Contact The Ammons Law Firm if You Were Hurt by a Dangerous Home Product

Dressers are used in everyday spaces: bedrooms, nurseries, living rooms, and even entryways. In many homes, you can find a dresser in almost every room. Because these pieces of furniture are so popular, they must be built with safety in mind to prevent tipping over and causing entrapment or serious harm. This is especially true in homes with children.

Before dressers (or any furniture, for that matter) are sold, they need to be tested to ensure they are designed safely. An everyday household item should never carry a risk of causing harm or death to the most vulnerable in our homes: our children.

When a dresser tips over and causes serious harm, families are left trying to understand how a basic piece of furniture could do this. They deserve clear answers about what went wrong and whether it should have happened at all.

Defective home goods can cause serious injuries and even death. Our lawyers for recalled products pursue justice for families harmed by unsafe designs. We’ll help you secure answers for the harm caused by negligence.
