Northern Tool + Equipment Recalls Allegedly Defective NorthStar Hot Water Pressure Washers Due to Fire and Injury Hazard


MINNEAPOLIS — Northern Tool + Equipment has announced a recall of certain NorthStar hot water pressure washers due to a potential fire risk.

According to the recall notice, the fan wheel in the affected units may malfunction, causing irregular burner operation. This defect may cause smoke or sudden bursts of flame during use, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

The recall includes the following NorthStar pressure washer models:

  • NorthStar Gas Wet Steam and Hot Water Pressure Washer — Item No. 157310
  • NorthStar Gas Hot Water Commercial Pressure Washer — Item No. 157594
  • NorthStar Trailer-Mounted Hot Water Commercial Pressure Washer — Item No. 157595

Only units with a MONTHYEAR code in the product serial number ranging from 0125 (January 2025) through 0825 (August 2025), and a burner WEEKYEAR date code between 0125 and 2625 (weeks 01 through 26 of 2025), are subject to the recall.

  • NorthStar Gas Hot Water Commercial Pressure Washer (Item 157594)
  • NorthStar Trailer-Mounted Hot Water Commercial Pressure Washer (Item 157595)
