Dupray Recalls Allegedly Defective Neat Steam Cleaners Due to Burn and Injury Risk

Dupray USA has announced a recall of its Neat Steam Cleaners after identifying a defect that could cause the unit’s boiler to rupture, creating a risk of burns or other serious injuries.

According to safety officials, the problem may occur if the cleaner is overfilled, the boiler becomes corroded, and the pressure relief valve fails to operate properly. In those circumstances, the device could rupture, exposing users or bystanders to hot steam.

The recall involves the portable Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner used for cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing household surfaces. The unit features a white base connected to a black flexible hose and is sold under model number DUP020WNA. Batch or date codes ranging from 0118-01 through 0425-05 appear on the rating label located on the bottom of the appliance. Each cleaner was sold with an accessory kit that includes brushes, cleaning tools, a Velcro pad, and cloths.

Dupray USA has received 15 reports of boiler ruptures and injuries ranging from bruising to burns to a broken wrist.

The recalled steam cleaners were sold online through Amazon and at major retailers, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, and Walmart, as well as on the company’s website, from April 2018 through December 2025 for about $150.
