Three People Injured After Multi-Vehicle Tire Blowout Crash on Loop 101 in Phoenix, Arizona

PHOENIX, Arizona — Three people were hospitalized after a tire failure led to a multi-vehicle crash on Loop 101 in Phoenix.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a vehicle was traveling east on Loop 101 near 59th Avenue when one of its tires failed.

The driver told authorities that the tire failure caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled across all lanes of traffic before colliding with two other vehicles.

Three people were transported to a hospital with injuries.

The cause of the tire failure must be investigated

Tire blowouts often happen with little to no warning, leaving drivers with very little time to react or regain control of their vehicles. When a tire suddenly fails, the results can be devastating. Fortunately, no one lost their life in this crash, but three people were injured. They deserve to know why this tire failed.

Sometimes, tires fail because of poor maintenance, wear, or road hazards. But many people do not realize that a tire can also fail because something was wrong with its design or manufacturing. These are dangerous tires that should have never made it onto our roads. If a defective tire caused this crash, the manufacturer should be held accountable for the harm it caused.

We do not know what caused the tire failure in this crash. That is why the tire itself needs to be preserved and carefully examined by trained professionals who know what to look for. They can help determine whether the tire failed because of a defect, poor maintenance, road damage, or something else.

Finding out why this tire failed matters. The three people injured in this crash deserve answers. And if a defective tire was responsible, the manufacturer should be held accountable.

We wish all three people injured in this crash a fast and full recovery.
