WASHINGTON — A recall has been announced for Topkay Torch Lighters after safety officials determined the products do not comply with federal requirements for multipurpose lighters and pose a serious fire and burn hazard.

The recalled lighters lack the required child-resistant safety features mandated under federal regulations. Without these protections, the products present a risk of accidental ignition, which can lead to severe burns, fires, or even death.

The recall involves Topkay-branded torch lighters sold in two-packs. The metal lighters are black, and the word “Honest” appears on the front of each unit.
