OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Two people traveling in a pickup truck were killed in a fiery multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck. The incident happened Thursday afternoon on Interstate 44 in southwest Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City police said traffic was slowing when a semi-truck failed to slow down and struck vehicles ahead, triggering a chain-reaction collision.

Following the initial impacts, the semi-truck overturned and traveled into a roadside ditch. One of the vehicles involved in the collision became engulfed in flames.

Authorities confirmed that two of the people who died were occupants of a pickup truck.
