Lezyne Recalls Allegedly Defective Bicycle Floor Pumps Due to Risk of Serious Injury


WASHINGTON — Lezyne USA has issued a recall for certain bicycle floor pumps after reports that the canister can detach under pressure, posing a serious injury risk.

The recall includes two models of Lezyne floor pumps: the Pressure Over Drive, which features an analog gauge, and the Digital Pressure Over Drive, which consists of a digital gauge. The black pumps are made of steel and aluminum, have a natural wood-colored handle, and feature a nylon-reinforced braided hose. Each pump has the Lezyne logo printed on its side.

Only models with a bleed valve located on the front of the base are affected by the recall. The canister can forcefully eject from the base during use, posing an impact hazard to users or bystanders.

Lezyne received one report of a canister ejecting and causing serious facial injuries.
