Currey & Company Recalls Allegedly Defective Electra Light Fixtures Due to Reports of Detachment and Impact Injury Risk


Currey & Company has announced a recall of its Electra Chandelier and Electra Three-Tier Chandelier light fixtures after identifying a defect that could cause the fixtures to detach from the ceiling and fall, posing an impact injury hazard.

According to the company, the component that secures the chandelier to the ceiling mount may not be adequately threaded, allowing the fixture to come loose and fall without warning.

The recalled chandeliers are constructed of glass and iron with a brass metal frame. The Electra Chandelier, model number 9000-1234, measures approximately 18 inches by 29 inches and weighs about 51 pounds. The larger Electra Three-Tier Chandelier, model number 9000-1235, measures approximately 47 inches by 29 inches and weighs approximately 131 pounds. The company name and model number are printed on the ceiling canopy of each fixture.

There have been reports of the chandelier fixtures falling from the ceiling.
