Mengna Recalls Allegedly Defective Criblike Mattresses Sold on Amazon Due to Entrapment and Suffocation Hazard


WASHINGTON — Mengna has recalled its Criblike-brand aftermarket play yard and non-full-sized crib mattresses due to risks of entrapment and suffocation. Officials said the recalled mattresses do not comply with mandatory federal safety standards.

The products may not properly fit certain play yards or smaller cribs, creating dangerous gaps where an infant could become trapped. Babies can suffocate if their face becomes pressed between the mattress and the side of the crib or play yard. In addition, the non-full-sized crib mattress fails to meet required flammability standards.

The recall covers Criblike Pack and Play mattresses, models XCD-001 and XCD-002, measuring about 38 inches by 26 inches, and Criblike Mini-crib mattresses, model MNCL-001, measuring about 38 inches by 24 inches. All recalled mattresses are white with “Criblike” and the model number printed on a label at the end of the product.
