Pedego Electric Bikes Recalls Allegedly Defective Fat Tire Trikes Due to Fall and Serious Injury Risk


Pedego Electric Bikes has issued a recall of its Fat Tire Trike electric bicycles due to a safety issue that could lead to falls and serious injuries.

According to the company, the aluminum frame of the three-wheeled electric tricycle can develop a crack near a weld. If the fracture worsens, sections of the frame tubing may separate, increasing the risk of a rider falling or suffering cuts or lacerations.

The trikes (sold in a black matte finish) feature a rectangular label on the downtube near the front of the frame displaying the Pedego name.

Pedego Electric Bikes reported receiving 16 complaints involving frame failures, including one report of an injury.
