Luyuan Recalls Allegedly Defective Youth ATVs Due to Crash and Injury or Death Risks


WASHINGTON — Luyuan has issued a recall of certain youth all-terrain vehicles after safety officials found the products do not meet mandatory federal ATV safety standards, creating a risk of serious injury or death.

According to regulators, the recalled ATVs have mechanical suspension systems that fail to comply with required safety specifications, increasing the risk of crashes. In addition, the handlebars present a laceration hazard if a child rider’s body or head strikes them at high speed.

The recall involves the X-Pro Eagle 40cc Youth ATV, Model CARTOONS, and the FRP Sahara 40cc Youth ATV, Model SHR 40-RED-M. The vehicles were sold in various colors. Consumers can identify the affected models by “X PRO” labels on the sides of the plastic body or “FRP” labels located on the front small plastic cover and the sides of the vehicle.
