SereneLife Recalls Certain Allegedly Defective Above-Ground Pool Models Due to Child Drowning Risk

SereneLife has announced a recall of select above-ground swimming pools after determining that a design feature may allow children to gain unintended access, creating a serious drowning hazard. The recall applies to SereneLife brand above-ground pools that are 48 inches tall and higher, including models SLPORND15 and SLPORND18.

According to the recall notice, the pools include a compression strap, also known as a reinforcing belt, that runs around the exterior of the pool and its vertical support poles. This strap can act as a foothold, making it easier for a child to climb into the pool.

Officials warned that the risk remains even if the pool ladder has been removed, as the exterior strap alone may provide enough access for a child to enter the pool unsupervised.

Model details and the SereneLife logo are printed on the pool’s outer liner.
