Little Pea Shop Recalls Allegedly Defective Crib Bumpers That Pose Suffocation Hazard


Little Pea Shop has issued a recall for select crib bumpers that violate the federal ban on padded bumpers and can create a dangerous sleep environment for infants. According to the company, the products can block an infant’s airway, creating a suffocation hazard that could lead to serious injury or death. Federal law prohibits the sale of padded crib bumpers under the Safe Sleep for Babies Act.

The recall covers two bumper designs sold under the Little Pea Shop brand. The first, marketed as the “Waffle Bedding Accessory,” includes padded bumper pads available in gray, pink, blue, and white. These were offered in four lengths: 23.5 inches, 47 inches, 78.5 inches, and 94.5 inches.

The second design, sold as the “Plush Crib Bumper,” consists of padded vertical slat covers with Velcro attachments. These were available in beige and ivory and featured bear, rabbit, or star shapes.
