Walmart Recalls Allegedly Defective China Window Industry Co., Ltd Ozark Trail Tabletop Butane Camping Stoves Due to Explosion and Fire Hazards


WASHINGTON — Walmart has announced a recall of Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stoves after reports that the units can explode or ignite during use, posing serious burn and fire hazards. Federal officials say the stoves can malfunction, causing them to catch fire or explode.

The manufacturer, China Window Industry Co., Ltd., has received 26 incident reports, including 16 cases of injury, such as second-degree burns.

The recall covers Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stoves with model number BG2247A1, which is printed on a gray label inside the fuel compartment. The stoves are dark green with an orange “Ozark Trail” logo displayed on the front.
