One Killed, Two Injured in Accident Involving Dump Truck and Stalled SUV on Almonaster Avenue near Jourdan Road, New Orleans, Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS — A woman was killed, and two men were critically injured, on Tuesday afternoon following a collision between a dump truck and a disabled SUV in New Orleans. Authorities said the crash occurred along westbound Almonaster Avenue near Jourdan Road.

According to reports, an SUV had become disabled and was stopped in the left lane of traffic when it was struck from behind by a dump truck.

The impact lifted the SUV off the roadway and onto the neutral ground. A woman inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A man who was inside the SUV and another man who was outside the car at the time, reportedly addressing the mechanical issue, were both transported to area hospitals in critical condition.

The identities of the individuals involved have not been released.
