Chewbeads Recalls Allegedly Defective Pacifier Clips Due to Choking Hazard


NEW YORK — Chewbeads has announced a recall of several styles of its Baby pacifier clips after reports that parts of the product can break and create a choking hazard.

According to the recall notice, the plastic D-ring on the pacifier clip can break, allowing the beads to detach. Detached beads pose a serious risk of choking to infants and young children.

The recall covers five versions of the Chewbeads Baby “Where’s the Pacifier?” clip, which come in the shapes of a butterfly, a dinosaur, a heart, a sheriff’s badge, and a white baseball with red stitching and a Major League Baseball team logo.

Each clip features a rubber attachment with “Chewbeads baby” molded into the design, along with eight multicolored beads strung along a narrow satin ribbon. The ribbon connects to a pacifier on one end and to the plastic D-ring on the other.
