Vive Health Recalls Adult Portable Bed Rails Over Entrapment and Asphyxiation Risk

NAPLES, Fla. – Vive Health has announced a recall of certain adult portable bed rails due to serious safety concerns, including the risk of entrapment and possible death from asphyxiation.

According to safety officials, the recalled bed rails do not comply with the mandatory federal standard for adult portable bed rails. When attached to a bed, users can become trapped between the rail and the mattress or within the rail, creating a potentially fatal hazard. The products also lack the required warning labels.

The recall involves Vive Health Bed Rails, model numbers LVA1024 and LVA3031BLK. Model LVA1024 features a white frame with a black handle and measures approximately 20 inches wide by 32 inches tall. Model LVA3031BLK has a black frame and handle and measures about 13 inches wide by 18 inches tall. Only units purchased after August 21, 2023, are included in the recall.
