Ebern Designs Recalls Allegedly Defective Ojaswi 12-Drawer Dressers Due to Tip-Over and Entrapment Hazards

WASHINGTON — Ebern Designs has announced a recall of its Ojaswi 12-Drawer Dressers due to a serious safety hazard involving instability and the risk of tipping over. Federal regulators state that the dressers do not comply with the mandatory safety requirements for clothing storage units under the STURDY Act.

The dressers can become unstable when not anchored to a wall, creating a tip-over and entrapment risk that can lead to serious injury or death to children.

The recall covers Ojaswi 12-Drawer Dressers sold in gray and white. The units feature a metal frame, a wooden top, and 12 collapsible fabric drawers. Each dresser measures approximately 39 inches tall, 43 inches wide, and 12 inches deep, and weighs about 31.7 pounds. The packaging is marked with either “HD011BL-SL” or “HD011WH-SL.”

Contact Us for Legal Help Involving Dangerous Products that Affect Children

Dressers are used in everyday spaces: bedrooms, nurseries, living rooms, and even entryways. In many homes, you can find a dresser in almost every room. Because these pieces of furniture are so popular, they must be built with safety in mind to prevent tipping over and causing entrapment or serious harm. This is especially true in homes with children.

Before dressers (or any furniture, for that matter) are sold, they need to be tested to ensure they are designed safely. An everyday household item should never carry a risk of causing harm or death to the most vulnerable in our homes: our children.

When a common children’s product causes serious injuries or death to a child, the family is left devastated and wondering what to do next. The Ammons Law Firm offers help to families affected by defective products. Our attorneys are experienced in holding manufacturers accountable when unsafe recalled products put people, especially children, at risk.
