BSH Home Appliances Recalls Allegedly Defective Dishwasher Models Due to Fire Hazard


WASHINGTON — BSH Home Appliances has announced a recall of select Bosch, Gaggenau, Thermador, and Kenmore Elite dishwashers due to a fire risk posed by overheated power cords.

The power cord supplied with certain units can overheat during operation. The company has received reports of overheating, including incidents involving fire.

The recall applies to power cords included with dishwashers manufactured between January 2008 and December 2013. Model and serial numbers appear on the top edge of the inner door panel. Impacted brands and model information include:

  • Bosch — Model numbers beginning with SGE63E, SGV63E, SHE68E, SHE7ER, SHE8ER, SHE9ER, SHE9PT, SHV58E, SHV68E, SHV7ER, SHV9ER, SHV9PT, SHX58E, SHX5ER, SHX68E, SHX7ER, SHX8ER, SHX9ER, SHX9PT, SPE5ES, SPV5ES, SPX5ES; Serial range FD 8801 – FD 9312
    • Gaggenau — Model numbers beginning with DF2417, DF2607, DF2617; Serial range FD 8904 – FD 9312
    • Thermador — Model numbers beginning with DWHD64, DWHD65; Serial range FD 8908 – FD 9312
    • Kenmore Elite — Model numbers beginning with 630.13003, 630.13023, 630.13993, 630.14003; Serial numbers starting with 010 or 013
