HOUSTON, Texas — One person was killed early Sunday after a car collided with a parked 18-wheeler in east Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Authorities said the car was traveling north on Dorsett Avenue around 3:32 a.m. when it struck the parked truck near Pillot Street.
Following the collision, the car traveled into a grassy area near a fence and caught fire.
Police said the driver was the only person inside the vehicle and died as a result of the crash.
