Bazic Products Recalls Silicone Glue Due to Child Poisoning Risk and Labeling Violations

LOS ANGELES — Bazic Products has announced a recall of its Bazic Silicone Glue after determining the product poses a serious poisoning hazard to young children and does not comply with federal safety requirements.

The recall involves Bazic Silicone Glue, Model 2030. The adhesive contains methanol, a substance that must be sold in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The affected bottles do not feature child-resistant closures, creating a risk of serious injury or death if a child swallows the contents.

In addition, the product does not meet labeling standards under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. The glue is labeled “Non-Toxic,” but it does not include the required “highly flammable” warning.

The recalled glue is packaged in a clear plastic bottle with a blue nozzle cap and a blue-and-black wraparound label displaying usage instructions and warning information. The front of the label includes the words “Bazic,” “Silicone Glue,” and “Clear Adhesive Sealant.” The model number “2030” appears above the barcode on the side of the bottle.

Only bottles bearing the batch code “V01233-031725-70004523” printed on the side are included in this recall.

Products like this are used every day: for home projects, small repairs, and crafts, and are often kept in places where children can access them. When a silicone glue is labeled “non-toxic” but contains methanol and is sold without child-resistant packaging, it creates a real risk in the home. That raises serious questions about how the product was labeled, packaged, and allowed onto the market.
