Global Manufacturing Company Recalls Allegedly Defective API Outdoors Climbing Tree Stands Due to Risk of Serious Injury


COLUMBUS, Miss. — Global Manufacturing Company has issued a recall for certain API Outdoors climbing tree stands after reports that the cable assembly can release unexpectedly, posing a risk of serious injury from a fall.

The recall applies to model GCL300-A, known as “The Marksman,” produced in batch numbers 9G-0114 and 9G-0614. These stands are designed for hunters who climb trees to reach elevated positions and are sold with an accessory bag. The recalled units are light green metal stands with a main platform, a nylon hanging strap assembly, and a nylon netted seat without a backrest. The batch number, beginning with “BN,” appears on a small tag on the frame beneath the seat.

According to the company, one incident has been reported in which the cable assembly released, resulting in a broken vertebra, fractured rib, and a sprained shoulder.
