Peloton Recalls Allegedly Defective Original Series Bike+ Over Fall and Injury Hazards


NEW YORK — Peloton has announced a recall of its Original Series Bike+ exercise bikes after reports that the seat post assembly can break during use, posing a risk of falls and injuries.

The recall affects Peloton’s Original Series Bike+ units, model PL02, with serial numbers beginning with the letter “T.” The bikes, which feature adjustable seats and handlebars, measure about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. The serial number can be found inside or behind the front fork or flywheel.

Peloton has received three reports of the seat post breaking and detaching during workouts, including two incidents resulting in injuries.
