NHTSA Issues Recall for Evenflo LiteMax Child Seats Due to Risk of Serious Injury


WASHINGTON — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall involving certain Evenflo LiteMax Factory Select child restraint systems due to an error in the product’s Spanish-language instruction manual.

According to the safety notice, the manual lists incorrect height and weight limits in the Spanish-language instructions. Because of this error, the product does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213 for child restraint systems.

Officials warn that inaccurate instructions could lead to improper use of the car seat, increasing the risk of injury to a child during a crash.

The recall, identified as NHTSA Recall No. 26C002, affects Evenflo LiteMax Factory Select child seats with model number CS100111198.
