At Least Three Injured After Multi-Vehicle Accident and 18-Wheeler Fire on Interstate -35 in San Antonio, Texas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — At least three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler that caught fire Friday morning. The incident happened on Interstate 35 near downtown San Antonio.

Authorities reported that a truck towing an 18-wheeler was rear-ended by a box truck, triggering a chain reaction crash. Following the initial impact, the 18-wheeler caught fire and struck two additional vehicles, including a pickup truck and a commercial motor vehicle carrying four occupants.

Police identified the injured as a 23-year-old man, a 50-year-old man, and a 51-year-old man who was operating the pickup truck.

No further information is currently available.

Truck Drivers Must Be Held Accountable When Basic Safety Rules Are Ignored

Rear-end crashes like this usually happen when a driver doesn’t leave enough space or doesn’t slow down in time. That responsibility isn’t optional, especially for commercial drivers operating large vehicles that can cause serious harm if something goes wrong.

This was not a minor collision. The impact was strong enough to set a commercial vehicle on fire. Damage like that doesn’t happen without a serious breakdown in responsibility before the crash.

Three people were injured. They didn’t choose to be in this situation. They were simply on the roadway when a commercial vehicle failed to stop.

Accountability matters in situations like this. When a truck driver loses control and people get hurt, there needs to be a clear explanation of what happened and who is responsible for the harm that followed.
