ANNQUAN Recalls Allegedly Defective Power Strips Over Fire, Overload, and Serious Injury and Death Risk

ANNQUAN has announced a recall of certain ANNQUAN-branded power strips after determining they pose a serious fire risk that could lead to injury or death.

The recall involves power strip models EX-D112-05 and EX-D106-25. According to the notice, the power strips lack supplementary overcurrent protection, increasing the risk of overheating and fire if overloaded. Fires caused by this defect can result in smoke inhalation injuries or burns.

Model EX-D112-05 features a black metal housing with 12 yellow plastic outlets and a single on/off switch located near the power cord. Model EX-D106-25 has a yellow metal housing with six black plastic outlets, each with its own on/off switch. The affected power strips were sold online through Amazon.

The company has received reports of the recalled power strips blowing a fuse.

Power strips are used every day to handle the normal demands of a home or workspace. People rely on them to safely distribute electricity to multiple devices without having to think twice. That is what makes this recall concerning. When a power strip lacks basic protections against overload, the danger is not coming from unusual use. It is built into the product itself. And when that failure leads to overheating or fire, the consequences can escalate quickly, often before there is any warning.

A product that causes a fire because of a defect can cause serious harm. Our lawyers for recalled products analyze design flaws and manufacturing records to prove negligence.
