Semfri Recalls Allegedly Defective Children’s Helmets Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death

Semfri has announced a recall of certain children’s multi-purpose helmets after determining the products do not comply with federal bicycle helmet safety requirements.

According to the recall notice, the helmets fail to meet mandatory standards related to impact protection, fit stability, labeling, and certification. As a result, the helmets may not adequately protect a child’s head in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of serious injury or death.

The recall involves Semfri-branded helmets sold in size medium (M), designed to fit head circumferences of approximately 20.5 to 22.8 inches. The helmets were available in orange, black, blue, navy blue, pink, red, and white. All affected helmets feature black interior padding, black straps, a black buckle, and a black plastic adjustment knob located at the back.
