Tire Defect Lawyers File Lawsuit Against Goodyear Tire After Defective Wrangler Tire Causes Fatal Crash

The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit against Goodyear Tire following a fatal crash in Tarrant County, Texas, caused by an allegedly defective passenger pickup tire.

According to the petition filed in Tarrant County District Court, the Goodyear Wrangler tire had a tread-belt separation, causing the truck to crash, killing one passenger and severely injuring the other.

The lawsuit alleges that the Goodyear Wrangler tire contained multiple manufacturing and design defects that made it unreasonably dangerous. It continues to claim that the tire had an open inner-liner splice that led to the separation, misplaced belts within the tire, and improper bonding with inadequate adhesion. The complaint alleges that Goodyear has a history of producing Wrangler tires that come apart during normal driving conditions.

The lawsuit seeks punitive damages, alleging that Goodyear engaged in conduct involving an extreme degree of risk, with actual subjective awareness, but proceeded with conscious indifference to the rights, safety, or welfare of others. The family is seeking relief for wrongful death damages, survival damages, personal injury damages, and other damages.
