Kalencom Corporation Recalls Allegedly Defective SARO Braided Crib Bumpers Due to Suffocation and Death Risk

Kalencom Corporation has announced a recall of its SARO Braided Crib Bumpers due to a risk of serious injury or death to infants from suffocation.

According to the recall notice, the padded crib bumpers do not comply with the federal ban on crib bumpers because they can block an infant’s breathing. The product creates an unsafe sleep environment and violates the Safe Sleep for Babies Act, which prohibits the sale of padded crib bumpers.

The recall involves SARO Braided Crib Bumpers, model number 1374. The products were sold in salmon, gray, and mint colors. The marking “Ref. 1374” appears on a tag sewn into the crib bumper and on a tag attached to the product packaging.

Contact Us for Legal Help Involving Dangerous Products that Affect Children

Cribs are meant to be one of the safest places for an infant. Parents are told to keep the sleep environment simple and free from anything that could interfere with breathing. That is what makes products like crib bumpers so concerning. When soft, padded materials are placed around a sleeping infant, they can restrict airflow or press against the child’s face without warning. At that stage, a baby does not have the strength or awareness to move away. What is marketed as comfort or protection can instead create a dangerous sleep environment in seconds.
