Somgem Pig and Yomin Toilet Lighters Sold On Amazon Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

Certain novelty lighters sold online are being recalled after safety officials determined they lack required child-resistant features, creating a serious risk of fire and burn injuries.

The recall involves Somgem Lightweight Tiny Pinky Pig lighters and Yomin Toilet-shaped lighters.

According to the recall notice, the products do not include the child-resistant mechanisms required under federal safety standards for cigarette lighters. Without these safeguards, children could ignite the devices, increasing the risk of burns or fires.

Officials also reported that the products were not submitted through the required pre-market process used to verify that lighters meet child-resistance safety requirements and comply with U.S. regulations.

The recalled Somgem lighter is designed to resemble a small pink pig with the ignition trigger located on the top. The Yomin lighter is shaped like a white toilet and features a cap on the tank along with a bottle opener at the base.
