One Person Seriously Injured After Tire Blowout SUV Rollover Accident on Interstate-10 in Phoenix, Arizona

PHOENIX, Arizona — One person was critically injured Thursday morning after a tire blowout caused an SUV to roll over on Interstate 10 in west Phoenix. The crash occurred just east of Loop 202 South Mountain.

Authorities said a tire on the SUV blew out, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle rolled before coming to rest on a concrete median barrier.

Several people were reportedly inside the SUV at the time of the crash. One occupant suffered life-threatening injuries.

The Cause of the Tire Failure Must Be Investigated

Tire blowouts often happen with little to no warning, leaving drivers with very little time to react or regain control of their vehicles. When a tire suddenly fails, the results can be devastating. Fortunately, no one lost their life in this crash, but one person suffered life-threatening injuries. That person deserves to know why this tire failed.

Sometimes, tires fail because of poor maintenance, wear, or road hazards. But many people do not realize that a tire can also fail because something was wrong with its design or manufacturing. These are dangerous tires that should never have made it onto our roads. If a defective tire caused this crash, the manufacturer should be held accountable for the harm it caused.

We do not know what caused the tire failure in this crash. That is why the tire itself needs to be preserved and carefully examined by trained professionals who know what to look for. They can help determine whether the tire failed because of a defect, poor maintenance, road damage, or something else.

Finding out why this tire failed matters. The person critically injured in this crash deserves answers. And if a defective tire was responsible, the manufacturer should be held accountable.

We wish the injured person a fast and full recovery.
