Toyota and Lexus Recall Over 40,000 Vehicles for Seat Belt Issue


Toyota is recalling 40,922 Toyota and Lexus vehicles due to a potential defect in the second-row center seat belt, the company announced. The issue affects certain hybrid sedans and crossovers.

The recall includes 2025 Toyota Camry models, which recently received hybrid powertrains, and hybrid and non-hybrid versions of the 2025 Lexus NX and 2024-2025 Lexus RX.

Affected Lexus models include the NX 350h, RX 350h, and RX 500h.

According to Toyota, the seat belt issue stems from a manufacturing defect caused by improper tooling during a hot-knife cutting process at a supplier.
