Truck Driver Sued for Negligence in Fatal 18-Wheeler Crash

The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the family of a New Mexico woman who was fatally injured when an 18-wheeler made an improper turn.

According to the lawsuit, the woman was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle in Albuquerque, New Mexico when an 18-wheeler driver made an unsafe right hand turn (identified as a “jug handle” turn) from the left lane. The “jug handle” turn caused the 18-wheeler to move into the path of the woman’s motorcycle causing a collision. The lawsuit further states that the 18-wheeler driver should have made a “button hook” turn, which would have kept the wheels of the rear of the trailer along the curb.
