Suit Filed Against Bell Helicopter Following Fatal Helicopter Crash


The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the heirs of seven individuals who died in a helicopter crash. On an October afternoon, a Bell B-212 helicopter was flying over Veracruz, Mexico when a part known as a strap fitting broke, causing a blade to become detached from the helicopter’s main rotor and the power train to tear away from the aircraft. The disabled helicopter was seen spinning helplessly in the air before it crashed to the ground, killing all on board.

In the causes of action brought on behalf of the passengers’ heirs by Mr. Ammons, it was alleged that the helicopter was defectively designed, manufactured and inspected by Bell as well as by the company that managed and maintained the aircraft.
