Attorney Rob Ammons Files Lawsuit Against Trucking Company And Its Driver in Highway Crash

The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a 35-year-old Texas man who was injured in a collision with an 18-wheeler.

In the lawsuit, Rob Ammons claims the trucking company’s driver was negligent and reckless in driving his rig at a dangerously slow speed on an Interstate, thus impeding traffic, when he had more than one opportunity to exit the highway. The slow speed was apparently the result of engine trouble. The driver was on the job at the time of the collision, making the trucking company legally responsible for his negligence. Ammons also claims that the trucking company negligently managed its operations and fleet, contributing to the dangerous condition of the 18-wheeler and dangerous conduct of its driver.

“While common sense cannot be legislated, there are rules and standards that apply to commercial drivers. When a driver chooses to proceed down an interstate at 30 miles per hour in an improperly operating tractor-trailer rather than exiting the highway or at least pulling to the shoulder, he and his employer have to be held responsible for any accidents and harm that result,” says Ammons.
