Harlingen, Texas – Ms. Paprika Sauceda, 19, succumbed to the injuries she suffered as a result of a crash with a semi-truck near the intersection of Hanmore Parkway and Frontage Road in Harlingen, Texas. The accident occurred around 5:00 in the morning on July 28, 2022.

Ms. Sauceda was driving a black vehicle when she collided with a semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck did not suffer any physical injuries. Ms. Sauceda was traveling northbound on Frontage Road between New Hampshire and F Street.

Thoughts on the fatal truck accident and possible actions for recovery

It is difficult to determine the cause of this particular accident. However, it must be determined whether the truck driver could have prevented the accident through his actions. Before developing a legal strategy, we must understand how the collision occurred.

Trucks must exercise extreme caution on public roadways. Because trucks are oversized vehicles, it can be very difficult for them to stop in time to avoid a collision. As such, the truck's speed must be determined in this matter. Additionally, if the truck drove too close to Ms. Sauceda in a manner that did not allow her to stop or give her room to maneuver her vehicle appropriately, the driver would be at fault for not maintaining proper distance.

It should also be determined whether the truck driver had the proper training and knowledge to drive an 18-wheeler on public roadways. We often see drivers with a history of negligence operating trucks despite causing serious accidents in the past. When a company hires a trucker that is clearly unfit to operate the vehicle safely, the company risks being liable for harm caused by that driver.

A thorough investigation should be conducted to determine the truck driver's role in causing this accident. If the driver or the company he works for could have prevented this accident through more careful driving and proper training, one or both should be held liable.
