Lewisville, Texas – 53-year-old Sofia Mustafa and 19-year-old Ridha Syed were injured in a three-vehicle accident in Lewisville on December 29, 2021.

Authorities reported the accident around 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Sam Rayburn Tollway service road and FM 544. Mustafa was driving a Nissan Altima southbound on the TX-121 service road when a truck heading westbound on FM 544 ran a red light and smashed into Mustafa’s Vehicle. The accident dislodged the truck's trailer and the trailer struck another vehicle.

Mustafa suffered incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident. The driver of the truck was cited for running the red light. No further information was currently available.

Thoughts on the Lewisville, Texas Accident that Injured Sofia Mustafa and Ridha Syed

Lewisville Texas Personal Injury AccidentDetails surrounding this accident seem clear. A vehicle ran a red light, struck another vehicle, and at least two people suffered injuries as a result. To provide more clarity, the truck driver was cited for running the red light. Could it get any more straightforward?

Unfortunately, in my experience, working with insurance providers--and what I am assuming is a commercial driver—is never very simple. Insurance providers’ primary purpose is to make money. This requires adjusters to take hardline approaches to even the most straightforward accidents. Now, this doesn’t mean the insurance provider won’t pay for the property damage caused by the accident. Denial of property damage is almost always a breach of the insurance contract and risks serious litigation. However, car accidents affect much more than just property.

The reports indicate Ms. Mustafa suffered incapacitating injuries. Those whose life has been uprooted by a serious injury understand the actual cost of an injury. It isn’t until you lose the ability to throw a ball with your kids that you understand how valuable the ability to throw really is. The law recognizes the intangible harms caused by another’s negligence and seeks to compensate the victim for the value of the loss. The problem is, how much is throwing a ball to your son worth? The insurance company will likely say $0. However, a skilled attorney will help measure the true value of a person’s injuries and seek the appropriate compensation.

I don’t want to appear like I am jumping to conclusions. I have no more information than what has been reported and can’t predict the exact response of the other party. I am simply raising issues I have experienced throughout my career.

I extend my compassion to Ms. Mustafa and Ms. Syed. I hope you can find strength through your recovery and return to full health.
