Two Injured in A Two-Vehicle Truck Crash On Missouri State Route 5

Moniteau County, Missouri – A two-vehicle crash took place on September 13th at 5:15 p.m., according to official reports. Emergency crews were contacted shortly after and responded to the scene of the accident.

According to reports, a 2022 semi-truck and a 2007 Hyundai Elantra were traveling on Missouri State Route 5 when they crashed for an unknown reason. The force of the collision caused the Hyundai to travel off the side of the road, where it rolled over.

The occupants of the Hyundai, 39-year-old George Simon and 31-year-old April Stillman, were injured in the crash and were transported by ambulance to the University Hospital in Columbia.

The driver of the semi-truck was not identified, and injuries were not reported. Authorities did not release information on the cause of the crash.

No further information was immediately available.

Thoughts on semi-truck crashes

Whenever you have an accident between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck, it is important to determine exactly what caused the crash. Trucking companies are represented by large insurance companies that work tirelessly to avoid liability by shifting blame onto innocent motorists.

When you are injured in an accident, you have a right to recover compensation for all harm sustained in the crash. This includes medical expenses and the value of any pain or suffering caused by your injuries. These costs can be significant, and corporate insurance providers do not want to pay them. To avoid liability, trained lawyers seek to shift blame onto the motorist. This is not fair and should not be tolerated.

We do not have any information on what caused this accident. However, depending on how you look at an accident, there is usually at least some fault on both parties. Because of this, it is often simple for trained lawyers to hyper-focus on a single act and paint one party as the sole cause of the crash. However, when you have lawyers on both sides, this is more difficult to do, and a fair and equitable resolution is often obtained. In some cases, this means each party bears the cost of their own medical care. However, in trucking accidents, harm is usually isolated to the motorists while the trucker walks away unscathed. That is precisely what happened here. Because of this, it is only fair that the injured victims are provided an opportunity to recover any compensation they may be entitled to under the law.
