Ronnie Friar and Lisa Lewis were killed when a driver lost control after a tire blowout

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Authorities reported that two people were killed in an accident on I-240 when a driver lost control of his vehicle after a tire blowout.

Quinton Neil was traveling west on I-240 when he suffered a tire blowout. The blowout caused Neil to lose control of his vehicle and crash into a Cadillac driver by Ronnie Friar. Traveling with Friar were 32-year-old Lisa Lewis and an unidentified five-year-old boy.

The force of the collision caused the Cadillac to leave the roadways, where it rolled before striking a utility pole. During the rollover sequence, Lewis and the five-year-old boy were ejected.

Authorities provided information regarding the motorists involved in the crash. Quinton Neil was not injured. Ronnie Friar was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Lisa Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The five-year-old boy miraculously survived the crash, sustaining an arm and a leg injury, but in stable condition.

No further information was released.

The cause of the blowout must be investigated to help the surviving family

It goes unstated that this is a terrible accident that will leave many, many mourning the loss of innocent lives. I extend my deepest condolences to all involved, especially the young boy.

As tire defect attorneys, our firm helps innocent motorists injured by a defective tire failure hold the manufacturer of the tire accountable for the harm its tire caused. This is a complicated area of the law. However, this area of the law improves the safety of the motoring public by removing defective tires from our roadways.

This tire will need to be inspected to determine if it is defective. If the tire proves defective, the manufacturer should be sued and held liable for the loss of life caused by its defective product. While monetary damages will not bring back the innocent lives lost, it will provide the needed compensation to secure the mourning families’ future and ensure all surviving family member’s needs are met as they grieve the unexpected loss of their loved ones.
