Two-Truck Accident in Pavillion, New York, Results in Injury

Pavilion, N.Y. – An investigation is underway regarding a crash in Genesee County that occurred on Monday.

According to the Pavilion Fire Department, a dump truck was traveling south on South Street Road when it disregarded a stop sign and collided with a tractor-trailer headed east on State Route 20.

Emergency crews reported that the tractor-trailer driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries that were not life-threatening. The dump truck driver sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The state police are investigating the crash; no other information was available.

An investigation is required to determine why the driver disregarded the stop sign, resulting in the accident and injuries.

Approximately 27% of the reported injuries sustained in truck accidents in 2021 involved the truck occupant. There are several reasons that a large truck may be involved in an accident, including improper maintenance, tire blowouts, tire failure, driver error, distracted driving, and more. It appears in this case, an innocent trucker was injured after a dump truck blew a stop sign. If this proves true, the injured trucker deserves compensation for the injuries and damages suffered.

The first step in determining the wrongdoer in these types of accidents is to investigate and inspect the vehicle to see if a mechanical failure occurred or if the driver was at fault. We can determine from the initial investigation and inspection if a manufacturer, trucking company, or driver was responsible for the accident.

Accident injuries can burden a victim’s family – loss of wages, inability to work, and even disability can result from injuries sustained in an accident. When negligence is to blame for an accident, liable parties may be required to compensate for the losses. Our firm helps determine the liable party through investigation and inspection of the accident.

Our law firm focuses on helping with truck accident cases around the country. We want to see safer roadways, and when accidents occur due to negligence, we seek justice on behalf of accident victims and their families.
