Andrew Carlson Dies in Accident Caused by Tire-Failure on HWY 101 in Coos County, Oregon


Coos County, Oregon — A man was killed when his car suffered a mechanical issue leading to a collision with another vehicle. The incident happened on Hwy 101 in Coos County at approximately 11:35 a.m.

According to reports, Andrew Carlson was driving northbound when his BMW 540 suffered a tire issue, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The BMW slid sideways into the oncoming southbound traffic lane, and a Kenworth dump truck struck it on its passenger side.

Carlson was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

Thoughts of Mechanical or Tire Issues that Lead to Accidents

There are a lot of unanswered questions here that need to be further investigated. Tire issues don’t happen unless someone messes up.
