Pedestrian Tami Lee Killed in Semi-truck Accident on I-5 Close to Wolf Creek in Medford, Oregon


Medford, Oregon — A Medford woman lost her life when a semi-truck struck her on Thursday night at I-5 southbound, close to Wolf Creek, near the Douglas/Josephine County border.

According to reports, Tami Lee was driving and may have struck an animal. She exited her vehicle to check on the animal when a commercial motor vehicle hit her while she was standing in the slow lane.

Lee was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No additional details have been provided.

Thoughts on large trucks and pedestrians

There are so many instances where a driver had the ability and time to prevent an accident from happening, but because they were distracted by texting, eating, or even daydreaming, they did not have the quick reaction time needed to avoid a collision. We don’t know why the truck driver hit this woman, but we know it should not have happened. This crash will need to be investigated to ensure all information is brought to light and those left behind receive the answers they deserve.
