Semi-Truck Accident with Dodge Ram Pickup on Interstate 80 in Austintown, Ohio, Causes One Fatality


Austintown, Ohio — One person died after a semi-truck collided with their Dodge Ram pickup truck on Interstate 80 in Austintown. The incident took place around 11 a.m. just west of Route 46.

According to reports, a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound when it crossed through the center median, colliding with the westbound Dodge Ram pickup. The impact forced the tractor- through the guardrail, where it descended an embankment on the north side of Interstate 80.

The driver of the Ram pickup truck was pronounced dead at the crash site.

No other details have been released.

The mass and speed at which the semi-truck was traveling the wrong way robbed the deceased of any time to react. Head-on collisions happen in a matter of seconds, leaving the injured party vulnerable and defenseless. It seems clear that the pickup driver did nothing wrong.
