Tire Blowout Accident Injures Two People at North New Braunfels Avenue and Burleson Street in San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio, Texas — A major crash took place on the east side of San Antonio when a truck collided with an SUV due to a tire blowout.

According to reports, a truck experienced a tire blowout and crashed head-on into an SUV.

Firefighters had to utilize extraction tools to cut through the roof and doors of the SUV to free the couple trapped inside. Both individuals were transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Thoughts on Collisions Caused by Tire-Blowouts

Unfortunately, tire failure happens too often—often without warning. When tires cause devastating accidents on the roadways, the injured deserve to know if the tire failed because of someone else’s mistakes.

Some tires fail because they were not repaired correctly or are not meant for the car they are installed on. When we take our tires for routine maintenance, we expect the shop to install tires that will keep us safe on the road. But sometimes, repair shops will do the opposite by incorrectly installing a tire or improperly repairing it. These errors can lead to catastrophic crashes. Tire repair shops should be held responsible when this happens.

Another reason tires fail is because of manufacturing defects. This just means the tire was dangerous when it left the manufacturer. Manufacturer defects on tires are difficult to detect and usually go unnoticed until the tires cause an accident. Manufacturers have to give account when a faulty tire leaves their hands and causes harm to motorists on our roads.

This accident needs to be investigated to ensure those injured know exactly what caused the tire to fail and the subsequent crash. If the tire failed for reasons outside their control, those responsible for this crash need to be held accountable.
