Tire Blowout Leads to Truck Driver’s Death on Interstate 74 at Dew Road in Robeson County, North Carolina

Robeson County, North Carolina – A semi-truck driver died when a tire blowout caused them to lose control of their truck. The incident took place on Interstate 74 at Dew Road in Robeson County, North Carolina.

According to reports, the truck driver lost control of the truck, veered off the right side of the road, and collided with multiple small trees before plowing through a wire fence and stopping in a field.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Manufacturers that produce defective tires must be held accountable

Truckers drive long, strenuous stretches of miles to ensure the public receives the goods they need promptly. But driving a truck involves many dangers on the roadways. Faced with enough hazards on the road, truckers deserve tires that are safe.

We are seeing steer axle tires failing across the country on semi-trucks. When this happens, the driver has little control over the truck. The truck crashes into whatever is in its path. This has been causing deaths and serious injuries for countless truck drivers and motorists around them.

The manufacturers of defective tires must be held accountable. It is not fair. If a manufacturer cannot produce a tire that lasts its useful life, then the manufacturer should not produce tires.

We do not know if the tire in this crash was defective. There are other reasons why a tire can blow out. However, we are helping truckers and their families across the country in accidents just like this one caused by defective tires. It will be important for the surviving family here to have the accident investigated by trained professionals who can identify and prove what caused this tire to fail and, as a result, the deadly accident to happen.
