Continental Tire the Americas Recalls Commercial Vehicle Tires

Continental Tire the Americas, LLC, a leading tire manufacturer, has issued a recall for 5,356 commercial vehicle tires due to a potential safety issue. The recall includes 315/80R22.5 Conti Coach HA3 tires that were produced between August 27, 2017, and April 28, 2018 (DOT weeks 3517 to 1618). These tires were sold in both the original equipment and replacement markets across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The reason behind the recall is a potential problem that could lead to the loss of internal pressure through the sidewall, resulting in either slow or rapid deflation. While Continental Tire has identified issues with tires produced during four specific production weeks, as a precautionary measure, they are recalling all potentially affected tires from the start of production.

Fortunately, Continental Tire has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition, but the company is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of its customers and road users.

The breakdown of the recalled tires per market is as follows: 3,917 tires in the United States, 61 in Canada, and 1,378 in Mexico.

If you own tires within the specified range of production dates and DOT codes, it is essential to take immediate action. Continental Tire has already informed the appropriate authorities about the recall and will be notifying all identified tire owners. The company will provide instructions on how to receive replacement tires free of charge.

The tire exchange program will cover not only the cost of replacement tires but also includes mounting, balancing, and service fees. This offer will be available until August 31, and afterward, replacements will be provided on a pro-rata basis.
