Tragic Collision on State Highway 71, Texas Leaves Two Dead

DEL VALLE, Texas — A devastating accident occurred late Monday night on State Highway 71 involving a semi-truck and another vehicle, resulting in two fatalities.

The incident was reported at approximately 11:20 p.m., as per Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS). Emergency personnel, including medics and crews from Travis County Fire Rescue and the Austin Fire Department, promptly arrived on the scene to manage the situation.

Initial reports indicated at least three individuals were involved in the crash. Two of the victims, who were trapped in their vehicle due to the impact, were subsequently extricated by emergency responders.

Shortly after their arrival, medics initiated CPR on two of the patients. Despite resuscitation attempts, both individuals were tragically declared dead just before 11:50 p.m. The third person involved in the crash declined emergency medical transport.

Details on the cause of the collision and the identities of the deceased are yet to be released. The section of the highway where the incident occurred remained temporarily closed for investigations.
