Amazon Truck Crash in California Results in Injuries

Monrovia, California – Chaos ensued on the 210 Freeway in Monrovia as an Amazon semi-truck collided with a side wall, causing hundreds of packages to be strewn across the roadway and its surroundings. The incident took place around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near Myrtle Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The impact of the crash was so severe that the female driver of the Amazon truck was ejected onto the carpool lane. The scattered debris on the roadway led to a subsequent collision between two other vehicles. While the condition of the truck driver remains critical, the status of the other drivers involved is currently unknown.

Startling video footage captured the demolished side wall of the freeway, with numerous packages and large debris scattered down the hillside, extending towards homes on Evergreen Avenue. Unfortunately, some residents reportedly took advantage of the situation, attempting to pilfer the packages that had fallen out of the truck and off the freeway, as stated by the Monrovia Police Department.

Efforts were made to salvage the scattered packages, with a tow truck retrieving some of them for transportation to a nearby Amazon fulfillment center. The 210 Freeway was temporarily closed for several hours following the crash, but it has since been reopened. Caltrans crews were observed assessing the extent of the damage on Saturday morning, although the duration for complete sidewall repairs remains uncertain.
